Genetec is currently looking for a Sales Engineer based in Canada, GTA region is preferred. This role will focus on Central Canada which includes Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan but candidates may be asked to travel outside of this region. Must be within driving distance of a major airport.

The Sales Engineer will work with the Genetec sales team in a pre-sales role to develop and position solutions involving Genetec’s products. Presentations and conference call discussions are a critical part of this position. During the qualifying process, the sales engineer confirms that Genetec’s products meet the prospect’s requirements and assist sales in technical qualifications. Throughout the proposal process, he articulates and demonstrates Genetec solutions, influences customer’s technical requirements, and positions products relative to competition. Working closely with assigned sales personnel, the sales engineer is responsible for all of the technical aspects of the sale during the entire sales cycle and is often involved with the client post purchase. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.


What will your day look like?
• Develop and maintain an extensive working knowledge of Genetec's software solutions
• Define product and functional requirements based on customer and partner requirements
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners
• Conduct in-depth product demonstrations and presentations
• Support sales team in responding to request for proposals (RFP)
• Work with Technical Support team to assure a smooth transition from pre-sales to the post-sales implementation environment
• Participate in trade shows, exhibitions and seminars
• Create white papers and application notes on Genetec’s software solutions


Who are you?
• Post Secondary education or equivalent experience an asset
• 5-7 years’ technical enterprise pre-sales experience
• Ability to collaborate with multiple groups toward accomplishing a task
• Enthusiastic, self-starter with a charismatic personality
• Proven track record of selling services as part of a solution
• Strong customer facing and relationship building skills
• Must be effective in working both independently and in a team setting
• Strong listening and question based selling skills
• Ability to travel as necessary
• Strong presentation skills

Technical Requirements:

• Excellent knowledge of Windows XP/7/Server 2003/2008 and SQL Server 2005/2008
• Excellent knowledge of networking principles and the IP protocol
• Experience with PC configuration and troubleshooting with the Windows operating system
• Experience with networking equipment configuration and troubleshooting (switches, routers, etc)
• Experience with VMWare Workstation 6.x/7.x and ESxi 4.x/5.x
• In depth knowledge of RAID configurations and storage mediums such as NAS, SAN, etc.
• Experience with video and access control technologies
