Genetec looks to its Product Line Managers (PLM) to identify market needs and develop detailed commercial requirements for our product(s) as well as oversee the overall product roadmap and strategy. This position reports directly into the Director of Customer Support.

The PLM will craft the strategy for the Genetec Advantage portfolio to support the development, launch, and management of both new and upgraded services/products, as well as developing compelling offerings and licensing options that support Genetec’s ongoing Lifecycle Management priorities.

The ideal candidate will come equipped with strategic and tactical management expertise, as well as a track record within high-growth software development environments.

Key to this role is a strong grasp of the role of product line management within a software development environment, and a demonstrated skill in managing the variety of roles and stakeholders that surround the development, marketing, sales and support of the target products and services.

The Genetec Advantage PLM will need to have a demonstrated skill for conceiving, pricing, managing, and tailoring support and lifecycle offerings, and must have a deep understanding of key service and health metrics related to on-going recurring services revenue streams. The PLM will also be expected to create or adjust the marketing mix (Product, Price, Promotion, Placement), as well as influence new product plans for enhancements, derivatives, and ways for Genetec to address specific or emerging customer needs.

The Genetec Advantage Product Line Manager will be in charge of developing and delivering the strategy and initiatives that support and grow this important part of our product portfolio.


• Craft a strategy for carrying out Genetec Advantage program sales campaigns together with the product marketing, communications, sales, and support teams
• Oversee development of Advantage benefits integrated into the software working closely with different product groups and application groups in research and development
• Establish launch timelines and ensure flawless implementation, on time and on budget
• Manage and maintain pricelists for the Advantage program and continually fine-tune the pricing structure
•Conduct market research and remain up-to-date with industry best practices;
• Ensure Advantage program aligns with all new products in development
• Oversee performance indicators and ROI follow-up in connection with different initiatives in place, and develop improvement measures if needed
• Define the customer experience associated with Genetec Advantage program and optimize its commercialization in order to boost customer engagement
• Act as an expert resource and evangelist at various in-house events or during external activities requiring an expert level of knowledge of the program and its benefits
• Take a leadership role with sales and assist them in surpassing their objectives for Genetec Advantage sales


• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in a related field (marketing, engineering or communications)
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
• Customer-oriented
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others
• Experience related to sales and marketing teams
• Fluent in both English and French (oral/written)
• Potential international travel, 20% of the time

Technical Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience in product line management and budget management
• Experience in market development
• Experience in product development; proven ability to grow market share
• Demonstrated skills in developing pricing strategies, promotions and packaging that enhance customer experience and attachment
