The Platform Core team defines and develops the very heart of Genetec's flagship product, Security Center. We work daily with concepts like complex networking, software security, scalability and fault tolerance on the core of a large scale, high-availability, distributed client-server system.

The Platform Core group is currently looking for a strong team leader that is passionate about driving product development and participating in the professional evolution of the team members. What your day will look like:
The development team lead reports to the software manager and is responsible for the people and process of the team under their leadership. They facilitate day to day activities and remove impediments to the team’s efficiency in a manner consistent with the overall goals and objectives of the company. The team lead works closely with technical leads, the software manager and others to uphold the team commitment to its upstream and downstream stakeholders.

Project Responsibilities:
• Using Kanban methodology, organize, monitor, and adjust the team activities for a successful delivery of new product features within established time and quality parameters.
• Detects and unblocks progression impediments to maximize team efficiency
• Promotes intra-team and inter-team communication fluidity to maintain a constant flow throughout the projects
• Collaborate with the project managers, product owners and other software teams to drive the most pragmatic project solution.

Team Responsibilities:
• Creates and maintain the technical documentation for the projects of the team
• Empower and encourage the team to take initiative and grow from their experience
• Mentor the team members and participate in their professional growth

About you:
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science.
• Minimum of 1 years of experience as a team lead or equivalent
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in developing software
• Working experience with Kanban/Agile methodologies
• Efficient in structuring and organizing complex and dynamically changing projects
• Excellent social skills with various social styles
• Enjoys interaction with many teams
• Someone who is motivated by a fast-paced, changing environment and enjoys the challenge of new and unfamiliar tasks


• Experience with software design and software modeling (UML, Enterprise Architect)
• Experience with .NET programming
• Experience with Databases
• Knowledge of basic networking concepts
• Knowledge of Cloud development (Azure, AWS, Google, IBM Cloud)
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, MQTT and IoT development
