Who are we
We’re a B2B software company in the physical security space looking for an in-house writer to support our busy content marketing team. Writing projects include web pages, landing pages, emails, blog posts, product brochures, editorial bylines, and more.

As a marketing copywriter, you must have exceptional writing skills, understand brand voice and style, and know how to engage readers through all stages of the buyers’ cycle. This role requires a true grammar and syntax expert who is detail-oriented, can self-edit, and produce quality work.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate an appreciation for the written word and have a keen understanding of the differences in writing for digital vs print. We’re looking for a proactive team player who is a self-starter and excited about working with a broader team and can balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

What your day will look like
• Excellent organizational, time management, presentation, and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to meet short deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
• Writing creative, effective and original copy for multiple projects, across a variety of media (print and digital)
• Liaising with internal customers to understand their business objectives, interpret their briefs and apply them to copy
• Writing and reviewing all transactional and trigger emails
• Improving our marketing content for all customer-facing communications
• Helping to develop creative concepts for campaigns and marketing pieces
• Participating in brainstorming sessions with designers and project teams to develop creative ideas and concepts
• Proofreading all print, web and collateral material prior to going live or into production
• Being able to work independently to execute assigned projects through the production stage to completion
• Keeping team members and managers informed of copy changes with regular updates and revisions
• Amending, revising or redeveloping advertisements or campaigns in response to feedback from the account team or internal customers
• Understanding and applying style guide principles, including copyrights and trademarks
• Becoming familiar with our products and services, target audience, and competitors

Requirements:

Who are you
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, English, or other
• 2-5 years in marketing copywriting or agency writing role
• Experience with advertising, marketing, and product launches
• Excellent written English and knowledge of French an asset
• Excellent organizational, time management, presentation, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to meet short deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
• Highly creative, show initiative, and be proactive
• Ability to articulate thoughts clearly and demonstrate great attention to detail
• Ability to interface with all levels of management
• Ability to receive input and direction from editors
• Resourceful and can fact-check like a pro
