Based in New York City, New Jersey or Connecticut, the Sales Engineer will work with the Genetec sales team in a pre-sales role to develop and position solutions involving Genetec’s product line. Presentations and conference call discussions are a critical part of this position. During the qualifying process, confirm that Genetec’s products meet the prospect’s requirements and assist sales and sales engineering teams in technical qualification. Throughout the proposal process, articulate and demonstrate Genetec solutions, influence customer’s technical requirements, and position products relative to competition. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.


What your day will look like:
• Develop and maintain an extensive working knowledge of Genetec's software solutions
• Define product and functional requirements based on customer and partner requirements
• Conduct in-depth product demonstrations and presentations
• Support sales/sales engineering teams in responding to RFPs/RFQs
• Provide ad hoc consulting on Genetec’s products for: strategic plans, best practices, advice on upgrades, special concerns, software implementation, integration, training, and change requests.
• Create white papers, application notes, and presentations on Genetec’s software solutions.
• Maintain and organize sales engineering tools and equipment (design sheets, Wiki page, etc.)
• Assist marketing with technical coordination involving trade shows, exhibitions and seminars.
• Provide technical support for pilot projects.


About you:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2-5 years experience in sales engineering for an IT company.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Bilingual in both French and English.
• Possesses strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Technical Requirements:

• Excellent knowledge of Windows XP, Vista and Server 2003/2008.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL.
• Excellent knowledge of networking principles and the IP protocol.
• Experience with PC configuration and troubleshooting with the Windows operating system.
• Experience with networking equipment configuration and troubleshooting (switches, routers, etc.)
• MCSE and/or CCNA certification is an asset
