The Digital Business Solution (DBS) team is responsible for the support, evolution and implementation of new business solutions across the company. As part of a major digital transformation, we own a portfolio of projects and initiatives covering a large variety of applications and fields of expertise (ERP, CRM, custom made applications, Business Intelligence, etc.).

Reporting to the Director of Digital Business Solutions, the Development Manager will join a growing team and will oversee our development activities ensuring alignment between the various teams, recommending best practices and contributing to the delivery of reliable and adequate solutions.

Responsibilities:

What your day will look like:
Technical leadership:

• Keep up to date on the different technologies (existing and to come) and stimulate innovation in practices, tooling and skills to anticipate future mutations.
• Foster harmonization within heterogeneous teams (branching, code review, automated testing, deployment etc.)
• Ensure consistent quality outcomes within development and testing using agreed technologies and frameworks.
• optimize the management of our development environments (data sync, updates, up time etc.).
• Identify all development related project dependencies and risks and ensure mitigation or contingency plans are in place.
• With the director and architect, challenge the technical teams on technological decisions.
• Ensure technical alignment with the other Genetec development Groups and anticipate our technical transformations.
• Always think and act with clients’ and end users’ satisfaction in mind.

Team Management:

• Create an environment built on trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort.
• Supervise and assess developers and team leads.
• Handle the objectives/achievements of the employees and conduct performance reviews.
• Optimize the ability of the team to adapt to these mutations.
• Ensure the teams’ growth and evolution in terms of resources, competencies and potential while managing the employees’ careers. Identify any support actions for personal development (training, coaching).
• Ensure the team’s morale is high during all phases of the lifecycle (dev, review, QA, release)
• Act as an escalation point for all risks and issues affecting the development team, and for working to define and implement mitigation strategies.
• Follow up and report activity in conjunction with the other managers through financial and operational KPIs.

Requirements:

About you:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering and a certificate in project management or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in technical leadership role in a software development environment
• General knowledge of following technologies and platforms: TFS (DevOps), Git, C# / IIS / ASP.NET, MS CRM / D365 FO (X++), SQL / SSRS, MS Test, NUnit or equivalent, IT (DNS, cluster, security)
• Understand the benefits of the various programming languages and accurately suggests the use of the appropriate technology
• Excellent leadership and communication skills;
• Ability to delegate and build accountability;
• Ability to collaborate with individuals at all hierarchical levels and in different teams;
• Results focused;
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple concurrent projects;
• Bilingualism (French-English);
